Dyal Capital Partners is close to securing a deal to acquire a minority stake in I Squared Capital, Bloomberg News reported, citing people familiar with the matter.
The size of the stake remains unclear and both parties might decide against a deal, the people told the news outlet.
I Squared specializes in infrastructure investments, with a focus on energy, utilities, telecommunications and transport in the Americas, Europe and Asia. Dyal, which is part of Neuberger Berman, focuses on acquiring minority equity stakes in and providing capital to established alternative asset managers.
A representative for Dyal declined to comment, while a representative for I Squared did not respond to requests for comment, according to Bloomberg.
