Verizon CommunicationsInc. and Alphabet Inc.'sGoogle Inc. are amongthose considering making a run for Yahoo!Inc.'s core businesses, Bloomberg News reported April 7.
Verizon plans to make a bid for Yahoo's core businesses in theweek of April 11, and is also willing to purchase the company's Yahoo Japan Corp.stake as part of the deal, the news source reported, citing people with knowledgeof the matter. Verizon and unit AOLInc. are reportedly working with three financial advisers on the bid.
Google reportedly is also contemplating a bid for Yahoo's corebusiness. Companies originally thought to be vying for the same business, such asAT&T Inc., and , would likely not moveforward.
Yahoo has reportedly set an April 11 deadline for interested parties to submit preliminary bidsfor its core Web business and Asian assets.
