Makena Resources Inc. will acquire the Moosehead northeast claims, located near Sokoman Iron Corp.'s Moosehead gold project in Central Newfoundland, according to an Aug. 8 release.

In the deal, Makena will pay C$10,000 and issue 9,250,000 shares to arm's length vendors.

The 600-hectare property, located 3.5 kilometers from the eastern boundary of Moosehead, consists of 25 claims. Makena will further investigate the potential for gold in quartz veins and will also compile historical data to better define gold anomalies.

R.J.K. Explorations Ltd., Tasca Resources Ltd., Sunvest Minerals Corp., New Point Exploration Corp. and New Tech Lithium Corp. are also eyeing claims near Moosehead, where Sokoman recently reported a drill result of 11.9 meters grading 44.96 g/t of gold.
