Snap Inc. unveiled a slate of new original shows for Snapchat, including exclusive scripted shows and docuseries.
Snapchat users will be able to access the new shows, called "Snap Originals," on the Discover page globally, or by searching for the title using Snapchat's Search feature. Also, the company unveiled new product enhancements to make it easier for viewers to discover, watch and interact with Snap Originals and all shows on Snapchat, the company said Oct. 10.
Each episode averages five minutes in length and brands can purchase "Commercials" within Shows, Snap's recently launched six-second, non skippable ad format.
Docuseries "Endless Summer," scripted series "Class of Lies" and "Co-ed" will premiere Oct. 10; "The Dead Girls Detective Agency" will premiere Oct. 22, while "V/H/S" will launch Oct. 28. Snap has also greenlit six other series for production.
Further, Snap said Comcast Corp.'s NBCUniversal Media LLC extended its content production commitments through 2019, and Viacom Inc. has committed to creating 10 new Snap Originals. Viacom also agreed to syndicate nearly 500 episodes of its network's shows for Snapchat.
