TC Energy to deploy Lockheed Martin battery technology on storage projects

Lockheed Martin Corp. signed an agreement with TC Energy Corp. to develop large-scale energy storage projects in North America using the former's flow battery technology, Lockheed Martin announced Dec. 12.

Lockheed Martin's battery technology can store and dispatch six to 12 hours or more of energy and allows customers to optimally size power and energy independently, according to the news release.

The technology will help TC Energy address the growing requirements for large-scale, long-duration batteries.
