Taranis to begin pilot mining operations at Thor polymetallic deposit

Taranis Resources Inc. is set to begin pilot mining operations at its Thor silver-gold-lead-zinc-copper deposit in British Columbia.

After obtaining ministerial approval for a discharge permit for a 1,000-tonne gold recovery sample test, the company said Sept. 27 that it will start plant operations in the spring of 2017 as soon as weather and ground conditions allow.

"Our board and management team … are confident that the Thor project will warrant full-scale commercial production upon reaching its minimum size goal of 2.5 million tonnes," President and CEO John Gardiner said.

Taranis recently drilled up to 1,858 g/t of silver at Thor.
