8point3 Energy to buy interest in 300-MW Calif. solar facility

8point3 EnergyPartners LP, through its 8point3Operating Co. subsidiary, is requesting FERC approval to buy apassive, noncontrolling interest in the 300-MW Desert Stateline Solar Facility in SanBernardino County, Calif., from First Solar Inc.

The project started commercial operation in late summer 2016and sells its output to EdisonInternational subsidiary SouthernCalifornia Edison Co. under a long-term power contract. is the majority ownerof the plant, according to SNL Energy data.

FERC was requested to approve the deal by Nov. 16. (EC17-3)
