Global Food Creators fiscal Q2 loss widens YOY

Global Food Creators Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 was a loss of ¥5.85 per share, compared with a loss of ¥1.84 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of ¥33.8 million, compared with a loss of ¥10.6 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin fell to negative 0.6% from negative 0.2% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue totaled ¥5.41 billion, compared with ¥5.43 billion in the year-earlier period, and total operating expenses came to ¥5.47 billion, compared with ¥5.46 billion in the prior-year period.

Reported net income totaled a loss of ¥38.0 million, or a loss of ¥6.59 per share, compared to a loss of ¥15.0 million, or a loss of ¥2.60 per share, in the prior-year period.

As of Nov. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥116.46.
