Report: MPAA CEO to hold meeting with creators of Screening Room

Motion Picture Association of America CEO Chris Dodd will holda meeting with the creators of Screening Room, Variety reported April 12.

Speaking at a press conference, Dodd said he will sit down withthe startup service's creators to hear what they have to say about releasing thefilms to customers the same day as their theatrical release.

Additionally, Dodd said it is up to the studios to decide, butthey have shown willingness to discuss changing patterns in releasing movies.

John Fithian, CEO of the National Association of Theater Owners,said the decision to support such a model lies with the distributors and exhibitorsand not with any third-party entity.
