CRA International Inc. will conduct an auction process to procure full requirements default supply generation service for default service customers of four Pennsylvania utilities of FirstEnergy Corp., according to an Aug. 7 release.
The auction process for Metropolitan Edison Co., Pennsylvania Electric Co., Pennsylvania Power Co. and West Penn Power Co. will lead up to the auction scheduled for Oct. 30. The bidding process will use a descending-price clock auction format.
The auction is being conducted pursuant to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission-approved default service program, or DSP-IV, for FirstEnergy. This auction will be the next in the series of DSP-IV auctions that began in October 2016.
Through this auction, the utilities are seeking to procure 12-month residential class for the June 2018 through May 2019 delivery period; three-month commercial class for the December 2017 through February 2018 delivery period; and 12-month commercial class for the June 2018 through May 2019 delivery period.
An information session for prospective bidders is scheduled for Aug. 31. Part 1 applications will be accepted from Sept. 6 and are due no later than Sept. 25. Successful part 1 bidders will be required to submit part 2 applications between Oct. 2 through Oct. 17.
