Report: Commerzbank considers shutting 100-200 branches

Commerzbank AG is considering the closure of at least 100 to 200 branches in its 1,000-outlet network in Germany as part of its broader strategic review, Reuters reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

The lender, which is looking for a way forward after failed merger talks with fellow German lender Deutsche Bank AG, expects the results of its strategic review by October.

The news was first reported by Handelsblatt.
