Daytona Q2 profit climbs 9.3% YOY

Daytona Corp. said its second-quarter normalized net income came to ¥44.63 per share, a gain of 8.7% from ¥41.05 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥95.6 million, an increase of 9.3% from ¥87.5 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 5.7% from 5.4% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 4.9% year over year to ¥1.69 billion from ¥1.61 billion, and total operating expenses climbed from the prior-year period to ¥1.51 billion from ¥1.47 billion.

Reported net income rose 18.7% on an annual basis to ¥106.6 million, or ¥49.76 per share, from ¥89.8 million, or ¥42.15 per share.

As of Aug. 9, US$1 was equivalent to ¥101.89.
