Salem Media Group reduces board size to cut costs

Salem Media Group Inc. reduced the size of the company's board in efforts to cut costs.

Consequently, James Lewis, Jonathan Venverloh, Stuart Epperson Jr. and Edward Atsinger resigned from the company's board, effective Sept. 11.

"During the last few years, Salem has faced several unique financial headwinds and we are looking for ways to cut costs while not impacting revenue," CEO Edward Atsinger III said in a Sept. 17 statement. "These resigning board members agreed that a reduction in board fees and travel costs would help improve the bottom line."
