Lookers PLC profit misses consensus by 26.4% in H1

Lookers plc said its first-half normalized net income was 7 Great British pence per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 10 pence per share.

EPS increased 16.3% year over year from 6 pence.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was £29.2 million, an increase of 17.0% from £24.9 million in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 34.0% on an annual basis to £2.34 billion from £1.75 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 34.3% year over year to £2.28 billion from £1.70 billion.

Reported net income grew 17.6% year over year to £37.4 million, or 9 pence per share, from £31.8 million, or 8 pence per share.
