SECOM fiscal Q4 profit falls YOY

Secom Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 came to ¥91.58 per share, a decline of 11.9% from ¥104.00 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥19.99 billion, a decline of 11.9% from ¥22.70 billion in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to 7.7% from 8.8% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue totaled ¥257.94 billion, compared with ¥258.31 billion in the year-earlier period, and total operating expenses came to ¥224.19 billion, compared with ¥222.00 billion in the prior-year period.

Reported net income increased 19.1% from the prior-year period to ¥18.13 billion, or ¥83.07 per share, from ¥15.22 billion, or ¥69.72 per share.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥369.01 per share, compared to EPS of ¥362.87 in the prior year.

Normalized net income was ¥80.54 billion, an increase from ¥79.20 billion in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue increased on an annual basis to ¥928.10 billion from ¥881.03 billion, and total operating expenses grew on an annual basis to ¥798.08 billion from ¥752.86 billion.

The company said reported net income grew on an annual basis to ¥84.17 billion, or ¥385.64 per share, in the full year, from ¥77.04 billion, or ¥352.96 per share.
