Avenira posts 11% increase in indicated resources at Baobab project

Avenira Ltd. said Oct. 12 that an updated mineral resource estimate for its Baobab phosphate project in Senegal significantly increased the potential longevity of the project.

According to the revised estimate, indicated resources rose 11% to 34.9 million tonnes at 20.7% phosphorus pentoxide, or P2O5, using a 15% P2O5 cutoff.

Inferred resources, meanwhile, jumped 37% to 156 million tonnes at 18% P2O5 at the same cutoff.

The March estimate stood at 31.7 million tonnes at 20.6% P2O5 in the indicated category and 114 million tonnes at 19% P2O5 in the inferred category.
