Starz names new CEO; DHX Media appoints CFO

S&P Global Market Intelligence presents a rundown of executive changes in the U.S. technology, media and telecommunications industries.

* Steven Macri stepped down as senior vice president of corporate finance at iHeartMedia Inc. Macri will remain at the audio company until Dec. 31 to assist with the transition of his role and responsibilities, the company said in an SEC filing. The company named Michael McGuinness to transition into Macri's role. McGuinness joined iHeartMedia as an executive vice president of finance and deputy CFO.

* Starz executive Jeffrey Hirsch was named president and CEO of the company after signing a long-term deal with Starz owner Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. In this role, Hirsch will be in charge of shaping Starz's overall business and programming strategy, as well as overseeing the network's international expansion. The previous CEO, Chris Albrecht, announced his departure earlier this year.

* MHC Software Inc. promoted COO Gina Armada to CEO of the company after it secured a majority investment from private equity firm Strattam Capital LLC. Minneapolis-based MHC Software provides enterprise content automation and document management software solutions.

* Vox Media Inc. agreed to merge with New York Media LLC. The transaction, financial terms of which were not disclosed, is expected to close later this fall, subject to customary closing conditions. Vox Media Chairman and CEO Jim Bankoff will lead the combined entity. New York Media CEO Pam Wasserstein will become president at Vox Media, joining the company's executive team.

* Doug Lamb is stepping down as CFO of DHX Media Ltd. The company named COO Aaron Ames to become CFO, effective immediately. Lamb will remain with the company in an advisory role until Oct. 31 to ensure a smooth transition. The company said its COO position will not be replaced.

* Equinix Inc. appointed Justin Dustzadeh chief technology officer of the data center company. Dustzadeh most recently worked at Uber Technologies Inc. as the head of global network and software platform.

* Xilinx Inc. CFO Lorenzo Flores will leave the company after it reports its fiscal second-quarter earnings Oct. 23. President and CEO Victor Peng will oversee finance operations while the company conducts its formal search for a new CFO. Additionally, the semiconductor firm appointed Sumeet Gagneja as chief accounting officer and Matt Poirier as treasurer.
