FairPoint Communications Inc. changed its name to Consolidated Communications in its service area.

The name change follows Consolidated Communications Holdings Inc.'s acquisition of FairPoint, which closed in July 2017.

Consolidated Communications completed the acquisition of FairPoint in an all-stock deal valued at about $1.3 billion including debt.
