Mincor Resources NL's contained resource at the Cassini nickel sulfide deposit, part of its Kambalda operations in Western Australia, swelled 33%.
The mineral resource at Cassini increased to 985,000 tonnes at 3.8% nickel containing 37,800 nickel tonnes, at a cut-off grade of 1% nickel.
According to the Aug. 26 release, over 91% of the mineral resource is now in the indicated category and is available for conversion to ore reserves.
The total mineral resource inventory at Kambalda now stands at 4.7 Mt at 3.7% nickel containing 175,300 nickel tonnes, with 86% hosted in the indicated and measured categories.
Mincor Managing Director David Southam said a diamond drill rig will be moved to start drilling in the lightly tested CS1 Channel, which yielded some very high-grade intersections, and to drill the adjacent untested magnetic anomaly.
A maiden ore reserve as well as a definitive feasibility study is expected late in the December quarter.
Mincor signed a term sheet with BHP Billiton Nickel West Pty Ltd. in March for a binding off-take agreement, part of the former's strategy to restart mining operations at Kambalda.
