Standard Bank names new bosses for Kenya, Zambia ops

Standard Bank Group Ltd. appointed Charles Mudiwa CEO of its Kenyan operations, effective Dec. 6, Business Daily Africa reported.

Mudiwa has been CEO of Stanbic Bank Zambia Ltd. since 2013, having held the same role for the group's unit in Malawi since 2007.

He replaces Philip Odera, who has been reassigned to a new role within the group ahead of his retirement. Odera has been CEO of Stanbic Bank Kenya Ltd. since March 2015, the report noted.

Mudiwa will be replaced as CEO of Stanbic Bank Zambia by Leina Gabaraane, who was most recently head of Stanbic Bank Botswana Ltd., Zambia 24 reported. Gabaraane's appointment takes effect Jan. 18, 2018.
