Fitch affirms ratings on Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac

Fitch Ratings on April 13 affirmed the AAA long-term issuerdefault ratings of FannieMae and FreddieMac, with a stable outlook.

Fitch also affirmed the short-term issuer default ratings ofFannie Mae and Freddie Mac at F1+.

The ratings action comes after Fitch the AAA long-term foreign andlocal currency issuer default ratings of the U.S. As Fannie Mae and Freddie Macreceive direct financial support from the U.S. government, their ratings aredirectly linked to the U.S. sovereign rating, Fitch said.
