Osaka ExchangeInc. opened a new derivatives trading platform and introduced newproducts, rules and functionalities.
The new derivatives trading platform, called J-GATE, aims toadd new functionalities and improve market convenience for investors, accordingto a July 19 news release.
The system launch was accompanied with new products and rulerevisions, including extending the stock exchange's trading hours. The exchangewill move up the start of the day sessions for Index Futures to 8:45 a.m. Theexchange will also extend the end of the night session to 5:30 a.m. from 3 a.m.to meet investor demand for more hedging opportunities to react to overseasmarket developments.
The exchange will also introduce one-minute periods duringwhich investors cannot change or cancel their orders for certain products. Themove is intended to prevent price fluctuation due to order modifications orcancellations.
The one-minute periods will be introduced before the openingof the day session and before the opening and closing of the night session.
