FirstEnergy to expand Pa. substation as part of $4.2B program

is expanding its Hoytdalesubstation in Wampum, Pa., for an investment of $48 million to improve service reliability.

The substation,owned by FirstEnergy unit AmericanTransmission Systems Inc., will see specialized voltage-regulating equipmentamong other upgrades.

Expansion istargeted for completion in early June and is part of the company's $4.2 billion"Energizingthe Future" program.
