State Street Global Advisors Inc. has named Rakhi Kumar head of environmental, social and governance and asset stewardship.

Chris McKnett will serve as head of ESG Strategists. Additionally, Matt DiGuiseppe was named head of the Americas, and Robert Walker has been appointed head of Europe, the Middle East and Africa, both in the asset stewardship group. DiGuiseppe most recently managed engagement and proxy voting activities at Nuveen. Walker previously managed environmental, social and governance research activities at HSBC Bank Plc.

The company is looking for a head of asset stewardship for the Asia-Pacific region.
