André Anderson will be the new COO and first vice president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, according to a May 15 announcement.
Anderson, who is currently the bank's senior vice president and corporate engagement officer, will take over the role in July. He will also be in charge of retail payment products for the entire Fed system, such as the automated clearinghouse services the central bank offers. He has been at the Atlanta Fed since 1984.
He takes over for Marie Gooding, who is retiring from the Atlanta Fed after 31 years.
The Fed's Board of Governors approved the appointment, which was made by the nonbanker members of the Atlanta Fed's board of directors.
