Probe Metals Inc. said Sept. 3 that the measured and indicated resource estimate at its Val-d'Or East gold project in Quebec jumped from the February 2018 estimate to 866,300 ounces of gold within 14.6 million tonnes grading 1.85 g/t of gold, using a 0.5 g/t gold cutoff for the pit constrained and 1.95 g/t minimum grade for underground resources.
The updated estimate consists of 733,100 ounces in pit-constrained resources and 133,200 ounces in underground resources. The estimate includes resources from the company's 100%-owned Pascalis, Courvan and Lapaska properties as well as its two option properties, Monique and Cadillac Break East, where it has options to earn up to a 60% stake.
For the inferred category, the updated estimate is 1.73 million ounces within 22.7 Mt grading 1.87 g/t, comprising 1.05 Moz in pit-constrained resources and 679,600 underground ounces.
Probe Metals added that the resources remain open in all directions for future expansion. The company and its contractor for the estimate looked at all technical information available from the project, including 2,924 drill hole collars consisting of 296,090 gold assays, which represented 314,653 meters of drilling, and 634 surface channel samples.
Exploration during the rest of the year will focus on resource expansion, looking for new resource zones and infill drilling ahead of a future resource update.
