WGL Energy to build 3.9-MW solar project for Susquehanna University

WGL Holdings Inc. subsidiary WGL Energy Systems will build a 3.9-MW solar project for Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania, according to a Dec. 18 release.

The company will install approximately 12,000 solar panels stretched across 14-acres of land at the Center for Environmental Education and Research. The project is expected to supply 30% of the university's energy needs.

The facility will produce approximately 5,300 MWh of energy that will be sold to the university under a 25-year power purchase agreement. WGL Energy will own and operate the facility, which is expected to go online by summer 2018.
