AT&TInc. will offer data plans geared toward developers and businessesto connect their Internet of Things projects wirelessly.
The telco is offering a bucket of prepaid data which will beable to power up to a thousand devices on its network. Available later inOctober, the data plans will give developers a path to deploy their devices, aswell as an entry point into deploying IoT solutions, the company said Oct. 5.
AT&T will offer three data bucket plans for IoT: 1 GB,with a validity of 12 months, including 500 SMS, will cost $25; 3 GB, valid upto 12 months and including 1,000 SMS, will cost $60; and 5 GB, valid up to 24months and including 1,500 SMS, for $100.
AT&T launched its IoT Starter Kit in July for developers.It comes with LTE hardware, platforms and cloud storage. The Kit has been availablesince August from AT&T or Avnet for $99 plus taxes and fees.
