Goldcorp resumes Penasquito mine ops after illegal blockade removal

said Oct. 8 thatit has started ramping up mining operations at the gold-silver mine inMexico after the removal of an illegal blockade that started Sept. 26.

Theprotest, which forced Goldcorp to temporarily the mine on Oct. 3, dragged onfor almost two weeks over issues including trucking, water quality and access,and the perceived unfulfilled company promises in the local communities.

Theworkforce has begun mobilizing, and planned operating levels are expected toresume over the weekend, the company said.

Goldcorpmaintained this year's guidance of between 2.8 million ounces and 3.1 millionounces of gold at all-in sustaining costs of between US$850 and US$925 perounce.
