Co-operativeBank Plc approached former Santander UK Plc CFO Stephen Jones on the possibility ofsucceeding NiallBooker as CEO, Sky News reported March 31.
Jones has not accepted the role, and the board could appointa different person as Booker's successor in the coming weeks, "a personclose to the company" said. Co-op Bank is due to report full-year 2015earnings April 1, having reported a net loss attributable to shareholders of £233.3 millionin the first half of 2015.
Booker was named CEO of Co-op Bank in 2013, and his contract runsout at the end of 2016. He has reportedly told colleagues that he could workslightly longer than that to help manage a transition.
