Accenture PLC said it acquired San Francisco hardware engineering firm Mindtribe and agreed to buy Columbus, Ohio-based smart embedded software company Pillar Technology Group LLC.
The acquisitions will expand Accenture's Industry X.0 practice, which the buyer said aids a wide array of companies in the digital transformation of their operations.
Mindtribe, which has a team of 40 professionals, produces connected hardware integrated with digital services.
Pillar Technology, with 320 employees, melds digital services with physical products to enhance their capabilities for end users.
Accenture did not disclose the financial terms of either of the two acquisitions.
