Vectren investing $12M to modernize grid in southwestern Ind. territory

Vectren Energy Delivery of Indiana-South is investing over $12 million to complete 70 projects that are part of its Smart Energy Future strategy, according to a March 22 news release.

The Vectren Corp. subsidiary will be working on circuit rebuild and conversions, underground cable replacements, substation equipment upgrades or replacements and wood pole replacements, among others, in its southwestern Indiana territory over the electric grid modernization plan's seven-year period.

Vectren Energy Delivery of Indiana-South is known legally known as Southern Indiana Gas and Electric Co. Inc.
