German unemployment rate falls to record low in May

The unemployment rate in Germany fell to a record low in May, Reuters reported May 31, citing data from the country's Federal Labour Office.

The seasonally adjusted rate fell to 5.7% from 5.8%, staying at the lowest level since German reunification in 1990. The number of jobless individuals fell by 9,000 to about 2.5 million, according to the report.
