MAPFRE shuffles international leadership

The current CEO of MAPFRESA's North America region will assume oversight of two other internationalregions with a promotion to CEO of the Madrid-based insurer's international territorialarea.

Jaime Tamayo will oversee the North America region; the Europe,Middle East and Africa region; and the Asia Pacific region after his promotion.He succeeds Javier Fernández-Cid, who is retiring at the end of 2016.

The current CEO of MAPFRE Global Risks, Alfredo Castelo, willsucceed Tamayo as CEO of MAPFRE USACorp. Inc. and CEO of the North America region.

The changes take effect Jan. 1, 2017.
