H.I.S. fiscal Q2 profit climbs YOY

H.I.S. Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended April 30 amounted to ¥35.11 per share, a decrease from ¥35.81 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥2.43 billion, an increase from ¥2.32 billion in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 1.8% from 1.8% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed on an annual basis to ¥131.93 billion from ¥130.27 billion, and total operating expenses totaled ¥126.92 billion, compared with ¥125.98 billion in the prior-year period.

Reported net income increased 17.8% year over year to ¥2.39 billion, or ¥34.58 per share, from ¥2.03 billion, or ¥31.29 per share.

As of May 29, US$1 was equivalent to ¥124.15.
