Great-West Lifeco Inc. has announced that Stefan Kristjanson, president and COO for Canada, will retire from the company Dec. 31.

Kristjanson will serve as special adviser to the CEO and COO until the end of the year.

Kristjanson was succeeded by Jeff Macoun, effective immediately. Macoun most recently was deputy COO for Canada and executive vice president of group customer.
