Davivienda makes $31M capital injection in Costa Rica unit

made acapital injection of 17.00 billion Costa Rican colones, or about $31 million,to unit Corporación Davivienda(CR) SA, La República reportedApril 6.

Theincrease, subject to regulatory approval, relates to the bank's 2012 purchaseof HSBC's operations in Costa Rica, Honduras and El Salvador worth $801million.

During thebank's latest meeting, shareholders approved the movement of equity reserves,wherein they first proposed the release of occasional reserves worth about $4.5million.

As of April 5, US$1 was equivalent to 534.98Costa Rican colones.
