UBS GroupAG's chief U.S. economist, Maury Harris, will retire by the end ofJuly, Reuters reported July 20, citing a company representative.

Harris served as chief economist at PaineWebber Internationalfrom 1980 until the firm was acquired by UBS in 2000, the newswire noted. UBShas not appointed a replacement for him.
