FirstNet, AT&T launch public safety developer program

FirstNet and AT&T Inc. rolled out a program to enable developers to create apps for public safety and scale them for America's first responders.

Developers will gain access to a portal that will help them build, test, deploy and maintain public safety apps.

Areas of focus for potential developers include situational awareness, in-building mapping, field reporting and records management, wearable devices, and telemetry solutions and forensic intelligence, AT&T said Oct. 11.

Developers can now submit their apps for inclusion in the FirstNet app store. Once apps are submitted, FirstNet and AT&T will evaluate performance, service-level agreements and potential source code vulnerabilities.
