As expected,Twitter Inc. enteredinto a live streaming partnership with Major League Baseball and the NationalHockey League.
As part of the partnership, the microblogging service willlive stream weekly out-of-market games from the MLB and the NHL, according to aJuly 25 news release.
Twitter also will stream an exclusive, nightly multi-sportshighlights show, called "The Rally," from an over-the-top network 120Sports. Logged-in and logged-out Twitter users in the U.S. will be able toaccess the once-per-week live streams of out-of-market MLB and NHL games forfree.
MLB games also will be available worldwide, except in selectinternational territories.
In addition to a new digital media rights with Campus Insiders,Twitter has streaming dealswith the National Football League, the National Basketball Association, thePac-12 Networks and CBS Corp.
