Amedisys Inc. appointed David Mikula chief development officer, effective Jan. 30.

Mikula's responsibilities include researching the market to identify growth opportunities, devising a business development strategy and enhancing market presence in the home health industry.

Mikula previously served as senior vice president and COO for the Texas region of Kindred Healthcare Inc.'s hospital division.
