Aramco taps Target Engineering to upgrade water disposal at Qatif plant

State-owned oil giant Saudi Arabian Oil Co. has granted Target Engineering Construction Co. LLC an engineering, procurement and construction contract worth 280 million Saudi riyals to upgrade the Qatif gas-oil separation plant's produced water disposal facility located in Saudi Arabia's eastern province.

In an Oct. 6 release from Target Engineering, a subsidiary of Dubai-based construction and engineering services provider Arabtec Holding PJSC, the firm said the contract scope includes installing a water-oil separation vessel, water disposal and injection pumps, low-pressure de-gassing tank water draw-off pumps and a pipeline to transfer oily water from the Ju'aymah terminal to the Qatif gas-oil separation plant.

The contract duration and start time were not disclosed.

As of Oct. 4, US$1 was equivalent to 3.75 Saudi riyals.
