Online travel agency Ctrip.com International Ltd. and Air France-KLM SA-owned airline KLM said Oct. 16 that they signed a strategic partnership agreement to increase Chinese tourism in Europe following the Netherlands-China Trade and Economic Forum.
China's Ctrip will work with Netherlands-based KLM on new flight routes, customer service and product marketing, which will help "grow the Netherlands' position as the 'Gateway to Europe' for Chinese travelers and enterprises," said Pieter Elbers, president and CEO of KLM.
Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, Netherlands Prime Minister Mark Rutte, Elbers and Ctrip CEO Jane Sun oversaw the signing.
