Altech, Mitsubishi ink off-take for 100% production of Johor Bahru HPA plant

AltechChemicals Ltd. said April 27 that it has executed a 10-year off-takesales arrangement with MitsubishiCorp.'s Australian subsidiary, Mitsubishi Australia Ltd.

The deal appoints Mitsubishi as the exclusive buyer of thefull 4,000-tonnes-per-annum high-purity alumina production capacity of theJohor Bahruplant in Malaysia and will start on the date of first shipment of the final HPAproduct.

The contracted sale quantities will mirror Altech's proposedHPA plants' production ramp up and account for 100% of planned production.

An updated bankable feasibility study for Johor Bahruindicated a netpresent value of US$358 million and an internal rate of return of 33.3%.
