Geely Automobile Holdings Ltd.-owned Swedish carmaker Volvo Cars unveiled a 15,000-solar panel installation in its Ghent factory on Oct. 4 as part of its climate-neutral operations initiative.
In addition to solar energy, the Ghent factory uses wind power to supply about 11% of its power.
Volvo plans to have climate-neutral manufacturing operations by 2025.
The company also committed to electrifying all new cars launched after 2019 and purging all single-use plastics from its offices by the end of 2019.
