Japanese IT hardware and services conglomerate Fujitsu Ltd. is in discussions with Lenovo Group Ltd. to sell its personal computer business to the Chinese tech company, The Wall Street Journal reported Oct. 6.
The agreement could be structured with Lenovo buying the majority of the Fujitsu unit and managing the business while the Japanese company keeps a minority stake, the report said, citing a person familiar with the talks.
Fujitsu released a statement following reports in Japanese media about the possible deal, saying that a deal with Lenovo was just one of several options it was considering for its PC business.
