Greg Smitley was appointed president and CEO of Hicksville, Ohio-based Empire Bancshares Inc. and its unit Hicksville Bank, The (Auburn, Ind.) Star reported.

Smitley will replace Larry Coburn, who is retiring.

Smitley has been vice president of finance and COO of Huntington University in Indiana for the past four years, according to the report.
