Azincourt Energy Corp. said May 10 that it acquired the 2,725-hectare Lithman West extension project in Manitoba, in conjunction with its joint venture deal with New Age Metals Inc., expanding the venture's Lithman West project to about 3,741 hectares.
According to Azincourt, the newly acquired land package has several known occurrences of pegmatite exposures, and work permits for the expansion project have been applied for. Once the permits are granted, the company will undertake surface exploration consisting of prospecting and sampling the known surface pegmatites and surrounding areas to identify and confirm new drill targets.
The companies' deal covers the Lithium One, Lithium Two, Lithman West, Lithman East and Lithman North projects. Earlier in May, Azincourt announced the acquisition of the 3,072-hectare Lithman East extension project, connecting the Lithman East and Lithium One properties.
