Target Corp. said Dec. 13 that it will expand its same-day delivery service through Shipt to cover all major product categories in 2019.
The announcement comes a year after the U.S. big-box retailer agreed to acquire the same-day delivery platform for $550 million in cash.
In addition to the product offerings expansion, Target said Shipt will continue to increase the number of markets it serves and also expand its headquarters in Birmingham, Ala., adding hundreds of new jobs.
Last month, Target's Shipt delivery service expanded to more areas in Pennsylvania and Maryland after launching in a number of other U.S. states, including California, New York, Montana, Maine, Connecticut, Texas and Illinois.
The retailer previously said it plans to offer the service to 65% of households in the U.S by the end of the year.
