RBC Capital Markets LLC is adding investment bankers Eric Steifman, who will work as co-head of banks and specialty finance, and Asad Kazim, who will join as co-head of U.S. real estate.
Steifman started with RBC on Sept. 5, and Kazim is set to join the company in November after the completion of his garden leave, according to internal memos. Both will be based in New York.
Steifman will report to Venkat Badinehal, head of the U.S. financial institutions group. Earlier in their careers, Steifman and Badinehal were also part of the FIG team at Deutsche Bank Securities Inc.
Badinehal moved to RBC in 2017 from Deutsche Bank Securities, where he was head of FIG Americas. Steifman was head of financing solutions at Deutsche Bank Securities and worked with the company from 2010 to 2016.
Most recently, Steifman was head of client coverage within the financial markets advisory group at BlackRock Inc., a company he joined in 2017. Steifman also worked at Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc.
Kazim and John Perkins will work as co-heads of real estate investment banking. Kazim had been a managing director in UBS Securities LLC's real estate, lodging and leisure investment banking group.
